Alaska Air Group, headquartered in Seattle, Washington, recently announced its acquisition of Hawaiian Airlines for $1.9 billion on December 4, 2023. The deal, anticipated to finalize in the second half of 2024, awaits regulatory approval.

Alaska Air will pay $1 billion in cash and take on $900 million of Hawaiian's debt. Despite the merger, Hawaiian Airlines will continue to operate independently, maintaining its headquarters in Honolulu, Hawaii.
